At a glance

FileZilla's column comes from its own pages: filezilla-project.org, the FileZilla wiki, filezillapro.com (features, pricing, file synchronization, editor) and FileZilla Pro's Mac App Store listing, checked November 4, 2026. "Pro" means the paid FileZilla Pro.

Price

AnyBucket costs $9.99, once. One license covers two Macs, with every protocol included.

The FileZilla client is free and open source. FileZilla Pro, which adds WebDAV, Amazon S3 and S3-compatible stores, is a subscription: $12.99 a year on the Mac App Store, or €12.99 a year for one device and €29.99 a year for up to three on its own site.

Made for the Mac

AnyBucket is built with Swift and SwiftUI, only for the Mac: one universal app for Apple silicon and Intel, in light and dark, in 18 languages. Passwords go to your login keychain, F3 opens Quick Look on any server, F4 edits a file in any app and uploads it when you save, and files drag in and out of Finder. Close the window and transfers carry on from the menu bar.

Any two places, side by side

FileZilla shows your computer in one pane and a server in the other. In AnyBucket each pane shows This Mac or any server, so you can put SFTP beside S3 and copy between them with F5. On the same server the copy runs there: S3 CopyObject, WebDAV COPY, and cp over SSH when the account has a shell. See server to server.

The keyboard and ⌘K

AnyBucket follows the two-pane commanders: F5 copies, F6 moves, F2 renames, F7 makes a folder and F8 deletes. Space marks, ⇥ switches panes and + marks by pattern. ⌘K finds bookmarks, recent folders and open tabs by name, or connects to a pasted sftp:// or s3:// address. See all shortcuts.

SSH

FileZilla logs in with a key file or your SSH agent. AnyBucket runs the ssh that comes with macOS, so whatever works with ssh user@host in Terminal works in AnyBucket: your keys and agent, ~/.ssh/config with Host, IdentityFile and ProxyJump, and security keys. Host keys are checked against your own ~/.ssh/known_hosts. See the SFTP client guide.

Where FileZilla shines

FileZilla is free and open source, and it runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, so the same app follows you to every computer.

Switching to AnyBucket

  1. Press ⇧⌘K for each site in your Site Manager, or paste its address into the palette (⌘K) and press ⌥↩ to save it as a bookmark.
  2. SFTP hosts in your ~/.ssh/config work as they are, with the same keys.
  3. Mark files with Space and press F5.

You can try it live in your browser first.
