# AnyBucket

> AnyBucket is a native, keyboard-first file transfer app for macOS. Each tab holds one or two panes, and each pane shows This Mac or any SFTP, FTP, FTPS, Amazon S3 (and S3-compatible: Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, Wasabi, DigitalOcean Spaces, Google Cloud Storage, MinIO) or WebDAV server, so Mac to server, server to server and server to Mac are the same gesture: mark files, press F5. Same-server copies run on the server, a ⌘K palette goes anywhere, Compare & Sync mirrors or syncs two folders, workspaces bring your tabs back, and the transfer queue survives dropped connections and relaunches. No account, no cloud service, no analytics.

- **Version:** 1.0.0
- **Buy for $9.99:** https://buy.polar.sh/polar_cl_pCF9yOjezTUaUqMPyUsxEho1EjcOvo6Bk49Q929LQCQ
- One-time purchase, plus tax where it applies · Two Macs · macOS 15+ · [Try it free in your browser](https://anybucket.app/try) · [Compatibility](https://anybucket.app/support/compatibility)

## Works with the servers you already use

SFTP · FTP · FTPS · Amazon S3 · Cloudflare R2 · Backblaze B2 · Wasabi · DigitalOcean Spaces · Google Cloud Storage · MinIO · WebDAV. And any other S3-compatible store, by its endpoint.

## How a transfer works

1. **Mark what you need.** Space marks a file and moves to the next one. Mark one file, ten, a whole folder, or everything that matches a pattern with +.
2. **Press F5.** The marked files copy to the other pane. F6 moves them instead. The queue takes it from there, so you can keep working.
3. **It arrives, even server to server.** From SFTP to S3, or one bucket to another, in one step, with nothing to download and re-upload by hand. When both panes are on the same server, the copy runs on the server itself.

### Two panes, any two places

Each pane shows **This Mac or any server**, in as many tabs as you like. Tabs read **Staging ⇄ Assets**. `⌘\` One pane or two · `⇧⌘\` Swap · `⌘T` New tab. [Dual panes and tabs](https://anybucket.app/features/dual-panes)

### Server to server, in one step

On the same server, **the copy runs on the server itself**. Between servers, it streams through a small spool on your Mac. S3 CopyObject, WebDAV COPY, cp over SSH. Moves copy, verify, then delete. [Server to server](https://anybucket.app/features/server-to-server)

## Every action has a key

The commander keys you already know: **F5 copies, F6 moves, Space marks and ⇥ switches panes.** Type a few letters to jump to a name. Every key is in the menus too.

- `F2` Rename: Rename the file under the cursor.
- `F3` Quick Look: Look inside a file without opening it, on any server.
- `F4` Edit: Edit with any app. Changes upload when you save.
- `F5` Copy: Copy the marked files to the other pane.
- `F6` Move: Move the marked files to the other pane.
- `F7` New folder: Make a new folder here.
- `F8` Delete: Delete the marked files.
- `⇥` Other pane: Switch to the other pane.
- `Space` Mark: Mark or unmark the file, then move down.
- `+` Mark by pattern: Mark every file that matches, like *.log.
- `−` Unmark: Unmark every file that matches a pattern.
- `↩` Open: Open the folder or file under the cursor.
- `⌘F` Filter: Show only the names that match.

## Press ⌘K, go anywhere

Find bookmarks, recent folders and open tabs by a few letters of their name. **Paste a server address to connect.** ⌘G sends the marked files wherever you pick.

## The rest of the job, handled

- **Compare & Sync:** Compare two folders row by row, then mirror either way or sync both ways. [Compare & Sync](https://anybucket.app/features/compare-sync)
- **Transfers:** Retries on a fresh connection, picks up after a relaunch and verifies checksums where it can. [Transfer queue](https://anybucket.app/features/transfer-queue)
- **Workspaces:** Save every tab as a workspace and open them all again in one go. [Workspaces](https://anybucket.app/features/workspaces)
- **Menu bar:** Close the window and transfers keep going, with progress in the menu bar and a notification when they're done. [Menu bar](https://anybucket.app/features/menu-bar)
- **Finder-like:** Quick Look any file, edit it in any app and it uploads on save, and drag files in and out of Finder. [Finder-like](https://anybucket.app/features/finder-integration)

## The real app, screen by screen

Screens from **AnyBucket 1.0**, exactly as it draws them.

- **Server to server:** An SFTP server and an S3 bucket side by side in one tab, with a file marked to copy across. [Server to server](https://anybucket.app/features/server-to-server)
- **⌘K palette:** ⌘K finds bookmarks, open tabs and recent folders as you type, and opens one in either pane. [⌘K palette](https://anybucket.app/features/command-palette)
- **Compare & Sync:** Two folders compared row by row, with every copy and delete shown before anything changes. [Compare & Sync](https://anybucket.app/features/compare-sync)
- **Conflicts:** When a file is already there, you see both versions and choose what happens to it. [Conflicts](https://anybucket.app/features/conflicts)
- **Menu bar:** Transfers with their speed and time left, servers and tabs, all from the menu bar. [Menu bar](https://anybucket.app/features/menu-bar)
- **Bookmarks:** Servers and cloud storage in one sheet. Secrets go to your Keychain. [Bookmarks](https://anybucket.app/features/bookmarks)

## Questions, answered

### How much does it cost?

$9.99, once, with tax added at checkout where it applies. One license covers two Macs. There's no subscription and no account.

### Can I try it before I buy?

Yes, in your browser: [the live demo](https://anybucket.app/try) is AnyBucket's own window with sample SFTP, S3 and WebDAV servers, and every key works. Nothing to install, and nothing touches a real server.

### Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac with macOS 15 or later. One universal app for Apple silicon and Intel, in light and dark appearance.

### Which servers can it connect to?

SFTP, FTP, FTPS, WebDAV over HTTP and HTTPS, and Amazon S3 with S3-compatible stores: Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, Wasabi, DigitalOcean Spaces, Google Cloud Storage, MinIO and any other by its endpoint.

### Can it copy straight from one server to another?

Yes. Open one server in each pane, mark the files and press F5. On the same server, the copy runs on the server itself (S3 CopyObject, WebDAV COPY, cp over SSH). Between two servers, it streams through a small spool on your Mac, with nothing for you to clean up.

### Does it use my SSH keys and config?

Yes. SFTP uses your `~/.ssh` keys, your agent and your `~/.ssh/config`, jump hosts included, and checks host keys against your own `known_hosts`, just like Terminal.

### What happens if the connection drops?

The transfer retries on a fresh connection by itself. If you quit AnyBucket, the queue is saved and picks up where it left off at the next launch.

### Can I use it without the mouse?

Completely. F5 copies, F6 moves, Space marks, ⇥ switches panes and ⌘K goes anywhere. Every action has a key and sits in the menus too. See [all shortcuts](https://anybucket.app/shortcuts).

### Where are my passwords stored?

In your login keychain, one item per bookmark. Bookmarks, workspaces and the transfer queue stay in AnyBucket's own folder on your Mac.

### Does anything leave my Mac?

Only what you send to your own servers. AnyBucket checks its license key with Polar, the store that sells it, and looks for a new version once a day, which you can turn off. See the [privacy policy](https://anybucket.app/privacy).
