# SFTP that works like Terminal

AnyBucket runs the `ssh` that comes with macOS. Whatever works with `ssh user@host` in Terminal works here: your keys, your agent, your config, your jump hosts, your security keys.

- **Your keys and config:** Password, keys, agent and `~/.ssh/config` with `Host`, `IdentityFile` and `ProxyJump`, as you set them up for Terminal.
- **Host keys checked:** Every server's key is checked against your own `~/.ssh/known_hosts`. A new or changed key asks you first.
- **Copies on the server:** When the account has a shell, copies on the same server run there with `cp`, so nothing comes down to your Mac.
- **Passwords in your keychain:** Passwords go to your login keychain, one item per bookmark.

## The keys

## Questions, answered

### Does it work with jump hosts?

Yes. Set `ProxyJump` in `~/.ssh/config` as you would for Terminal, and connect to the host's name. See [SSH keys and jump hosts](https://anybucket.app/guides/ssh-keys-and-jump-hosts).

### Does it work with 1Password or a hardware key?

AnyBucket uses `/usr/bin/ssh`, so an SSH agent or a security key that works with `ssh` in Terminal works in AnyBucket too.

### Which servers does it work with?

OpenSSH servers, with password, key and agent logins. See [compatibility](https://anybucket.app/support/compatibility).

### Can I edit a file on the server?

Press F4 to open it in any app. When you save, AnyBucket uploads the change.
