# Every action has a key

If you've used Norton Commander, Total Commander or Midnight Commander, your hands already know AnyBucket. If you haven't, the keys are in the menus and on an optional function-key bar.

- **F2 to F8:** **F2** renames, **F3** Quick Looks, **F4** edits, **F5** copies, **F6** moves, **F7** makes a folder and **F8** deletes.
- **Mark without the mouse:** **Space** marks and moves down, ⇧ with the arrows extends, **+** and **−** mark and unmark by pattern.
- **Type to jump:** Start typing a name and the cursor jumps to the first file that starts with it. ⌘F filters the pane.
- **A bar for the F-keys:** Turn on **Settings → Keyboard → Show Function-Key Bar** to see every F-key under the panes and click it.

## Questions, answered

### My MacBook's F-keys change the brightness

Hold **fn** with the F-key, or turn on **Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys** in **System Settings → Keyboard**. The function-key bar works with a click too.

### Are the shortcuts in the menus?

Every one of them, so you can find a key by looking for its command. [All shortcuts](https://anybucket.app/shortcuts) are on one page too.

### Can I still use the mouse?

Of course. Click, drag and drop, the source menu and the buttons under each pane all work as you'd expect.
